We are proud to confirm dates for our annual ‘Port Vale Remembers’ fixture, and 150th anniversary match at Vale Park.
As in previous years, our Port Vale Remembers game will be played on New Year’s Day (1st January 2026), when we welcome Blackpool to Burslem. Before kickoff, we will observe a moment of silence to memorialize individuals associated with the club who died in 2025.
Details on how to submit names for inclusion in our tribute will be given in December.
Three days later (4th January 2026), we will proudly commemorate Port Vale Football Club’s 150th anniversary when the Valiants face Barnsley at Vale Park, with a large crowd expected to attend, including special visitors.
Fittingly, the Tykes have been our most frequent opponents since 1876, with the January being the 121st between the two sides.
There will be a variety of fascinating anniversary-related activities throughout the day, with more information to be announced in due course.
Our colleagues at IronMarket Wealth have also signed on as Match Sponsors for the game, with Autonet Insurance confirming as Match Ball Sponsors.
Matt Hancock, Port Vale’s Chief Executive, stated: “We’re happy to confirm two extremely key dates in this season’s calendar, which will assist ensure we start our official anniversary year in 2026 in the proper way.
“Our Port Vale Remembers fixture is always a moving occasion, and I believe it is appropriate that we start each year by commemorating those who have helped shape our club into what it is today.
“We’re also well under way with plans for our dedicated 150th anniversary game, and are encouraging as many supporters as possible to come down to Vale Park for what will be a real celebration.”
