In the meanwhile, German second-tier team Holstein Kiel has signed Jonas Therkelsen, the Norway Under-21 international who Wanderers aggressively chased in January.
After following the offensive midfielder’s development at Strømsgodset for several months, Bolton had two bids rejected for him in the last weeks of Ian Evatt’s tenure as manager.
Therkelsen has paid almost £1.6 million to sign a four-year contract in Germany.
