Derby County are reportedly lining up a move for Birmingham City centre-back Dion Sanderson, as John Eustace continues to shape his squad with familiar faces.
The 25-year-old defender has previously worked under Eustace at two different clubs, including a loan spell last season at Blackburn Rovers, where he made 12 appearances during their push for a Championship play-off spot. Prior to that, he was a regular under Eustace at Birmingham, establishing himself as a dependable presence at the back.
Now, it seems a third reunion could be on the cards, with The Sun reporting that Derby are prepared to support Eustace’s desire to bring Sanderson to Pride Park. The defender is understood to carry a £1 million valuation, making him a financially viable target as the Rams look to strengthen.

Familiar Names Top Eustace’s Wish List
Sanderson joins a growing list of Eustace’s former players who have been linked with a move to Derby. The club is also said to be considering deals for Blackburn pair Danny Batth and Andreas Weimann, both of whom have Championship pedigree.
In addition, Swansea City’s Harry Darling has also emerged as a possible option, further indicating that Eustace wants to infuse his squad with players who not only have second-tier experience, but also understand his system and style.
Championship Experience the Priority After Narrow Escape
After narrowly avoiding relegation last season, Derby appear determined to avoid another close call in the upcoming campaign. Eustace is aiming to bring in battle-tested players who can help stabilize and push the squad higher up the table.
Adding someone like Sanderson—who already has strong links with the manager and solid Championship experience—could prove key as Derby seek to build consistency and resilience heading into the new season.
