Details confirmed for Sheffield Wednesday play-off as Owls youngsters push for glory

This weekend, Sheffield Wednesday’s U18 team will travel to Bristol City for the championship play-offs, hoping to

maintain their incredible play.

With a 13-game unbeaten streak that saw them win 12 games and score 47 goals, Andy Sharp’s young team ended the

season in spectacular fashion, finishing second in the Professional Development League North table. Will Grainger

and Caelan-Kole Cadamarteri have scored 38 goals between them so far this season, and they will be eager to add

more this weekend.

It has been confirmed that the game will take place at the Robins’ home ground, Ashton Gate, as the youngsters

battle it out in a professional environment on Saturday, with the winner going on to face either Watford or Burnley

in the final later this month.

Sheffield Wednesday gunning for silverware
“The Owls U18s will play in the play-off semi-final on Saturday when they travel to Bristol City,” the club announced.
The Owls, who finished second in the U18 Professional Development League North, will travel to play the Robins in
the semifinals.

Bristol City had home advantage because they finished first in the southern region. In the other semi-final match,

Burnley, who finished four points ahead of the Owls in the North League, will host Watford. On Saturday, kickoff is
scheduled for 2:00 pm at Ashton Gate.
Wednesday are the most in-form team of any of the four who have made it into the play-offs this season, with the
other three having all lost at least once in their last five PDL fixtures. Sharp will be eager for that to remain the case
over the next two games as they look to lift the title for the first time since 2019.
