‘Don’t boo players’—Huddersfield ‘owner Nagle
Kevin Nagle, the owner of Huddersfield Town, has urged fans to remain loyal to the team in spite of their recent lacklustre
performance.
The Terriers have not scored in any of their last six home games and have only won four of their last 14 League One games.
With one more game completed, Michael Duff’s team is now sixth in the standings, one point ahead of seventh-place Bolton.
“We must help the team and the players because we are in the playoffs. Before Tuesday’s 1-0 home loss to Wrexham, Nagle told BBC
Radio Leeds, “We don’t need to boo them.”
“We haven’t seen it yet, but boo them if they’re not giving it their all.
“The manager has enjoyed one of the longest [unbeaten] streaks this season, and these players are also sensitive. We must keep that in
mind.
From October 1 to Bolton’s 1-0 home loss on January 25, Town, who were demoted from the Championship the previous season,
embarked on a 16-game league winning streak.
In a recent social media response to disgruntled fans, American businessman Nagle claimed that many of the people griping about the
team’s performance are “keyboard warriors.”
“I saw the fans’ frustration and I understand that. I wanted them to see I wasn’t ignoring them,” he said.
“I put it all in perspective, what percentage of the universe are on X? It’s a small number and they tend to be very active and they’re
keyboard warriors.
“I know the greater audience is a little bit more patient.”
Nagle ‘not thinking about failure’
After losing at third-place Wrexham on Tuesday, Town fell nine points behind second-place Wycombe with one more gameNagle, who took over the team in May 2023, reaffirmed that he would consider the season a success if the team was
“We must be promoted and in a play-off place. I still believe it’s feasible, and I’d love to get promoted automatically,” he
“If we weren’t promoted, I wouldn’t be pleased.
“I can control what we’ve done off the pitch, and I’m happy with it.
“We’ve got the players to be able to do it and I’m not going to think about failure at the moment, we’re in a strong position
