The LSU Fightin’ Tigers defeated West Virginia 12-5 to sweep the Baton Rouge Super Regional and move on to Omaha, where they will play in the College World Series for the twentieth time in program history.

With the number of people in attendance, you wouldn’t have guessed that the game on Sunday night had been postponed by around three hours. The Tiger fans who endured the rain—well, not the rain, but whatever weather delay was in effect—were rewarded with a resounding victory in what turned out to be the final game at Alex Box Stadium for 2025.
Jake Brown and Steven Milam, both sophomores, led LSU. Both players were credited with four RBI and went 2-4 at the plate. Brown hit a two-run home ball that sailed over the batter’s eye in the seventh inning, while Milam had two doubles, including a three-run double in the second inning. In addition, Milam had two walks, while Brown was struck by a pitch.
