A woman was killed in a hit-and-run in Edgware, North London, shortly after 3 p.m. today, with police later discovering the abandoned vehicle that collided with her.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a woman was killed in a hit-and-run in North London this afternoon. The incident occurred shortly after 3 p.m. outside a school in the Edgware area.

The pedestrian was on Grahame Park Way when she was struck by the vehicle, in a crash witnessed by some parents and children present at the time, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The car in question had driven away from the police prior to the incident and was later discovered abandoned, and the force is now looking for the driver.

Metropolitan Police reported a collision between a car and a female pedestrian in Grahame Park Way, NW9, shortly before 15:10hrs on Tuesday, March 25. Before the collision, the car drove away from a police vehicle.

“Before the London Ambulance Service arrived, officers treated the woman.” However, despite the efforts of emergency personnel, the woman died on the scene.

“The car did not stop and was discovered abandoned a short time later. The search for the car’s occupants continues. There have been no arrests, and investigations continue. Anyone with information that can help police is asked to call 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC and reference CAD4440/25Mar.”

Several ambulance crews, including an air ambulance, were dispatched to the scene. A London Ambulance Service spokesperson stated, “We were called at 3.08pm today [March 25] to reports of a road traffic collision on Grahame Park Way, NW9.

“We dispatched several resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic, a clinical team manager, and an incident response officer.” We also dispatched the London Air Ambulance. Unfortunately, despite our crews’ best efforts, a woman was pronounced dead on the scene.
