England star picks Elland Road as his next destination – Leeds United could get deal done soon

This summer, Leeds United plans to add some players to their roster. However, there have been conflicting stories

about where they will find their players. After the season concluded, Daniel Farke and the recruitment team were

already at work.

For promoted teams, the recruitment process prior to the start of the season is crucial. Relegation or survival could

depend on getting good players in the door. When Leeds was last promoted in 2020, they were able to sign Rodrigo

Moreno, Raphinha, and Robin Koch. The Whites placed in the top half of the Premier League thanks in large part to

all of those acquisitions.

A variety of Premier League players as well as other elite players from other European leagues have been connected

to Leeds thus far. When the season begins in August, fans will be eager to see who will be on the team.

The connections to Kalvin Phillips have persisted ever since the team got promoted. He has been in the news for

returning to the club for the past two summers after quitting a few seasons back. He hasn’t had the best of times

since joining Ipswich Town on loan this season. Phillips has been one of the first names brought up since Leeds

returned to the Premier League.

The midfielder is eager to return to Elland Road, according to Graeme Bailey:

“Leeds is closely examining the Phillips scenario. He desires to return. Although it won’t be a long-term agreement, I

believe Leeds has the ideal opportunity. He told Leeds United reporters that Leeds should make every effort to get

him back.

He has the potential to be really talented. He is still one of the best players in the Premier League. I’d be shocked if

they didn’t bring Phillips back, but he made some poor choices and ought to have gone to Newcastle.

He is one of Leeds top targets this window, loan with an option. Leeds will have no issue matching what Ipswich are

paying . My understanding is he wants to come back, Leeds want him. I think it gets done.”

Leeds are expected to have a huge budget this summer.

Kalvin Phillips is the ideal Premier League signing

Phillips is still healthy enough to participate for a season at the age of 29. Despite his poor play, he has shown during

his time at Ipswich that he can be a valuable member of a Premier League team. The current Leeds team lacks Kalvin

Phillips’ profile and his wealth of experience.

Since he has occasionally been used in defence, Daniel Farke may have more alternatives.
