Former Dundee star Lyall Cameron claims he doesn’t feel out of place at Rangers as he tries to impress new manager Russell Martin.

This summer, the 22-year-old moved from Dens Park to Ibrox after graduating from the Dark Blues program. Cameron signed a pre-contract in January, but Dundee will receive compensation from the Glasgow club.

The amount has yet to be determined. The player’s emphasis, however, is solely on the Gers’ Champions League qualifier against Panathinaikos on July 22. “Obviously, it’s just around the corner, but we’ve got a few friendlies between now and then,” Cameron told Sky Sports.

“That is the main focus, but we just need to keep taking in the messages that the gaffer is giving us, work hard, and I am confident we will be fine.” “The question was, ‘Can I come here and perform at a higher level?'” “I believe I am capable of training and have not felt out of place throughout the few sessions I have attended.

“Hopefully, I can carry that into the games. The manager wants you to run hard, and I will always do so. “Do the essentials, and the rest will take care of itself. I just need to do my best, and maybe score goals to help the club.”

‘Massive change’

He went on to say, “Everyone has been incredibly welcoming, and I feel as if I’ve been here forever.

“Obviously, we have a very large group right now, so training is demanding and stressful since everyone is wanting to impress the new manager. “Everyone wants to be in a good position to play as many games as possible.

“It has been a huge change for me. Everything is so much bigger on the training ground, both with the personnel and the players.

“It’s been a huge shift going to Glasgow, but it’s been fantastic. “For me, I feel right at home, and I’m having a great time. “I wouldn’t change it for the world, to be honest.”
