Ex-Norwich City boss David Wagner set for new role

Ex-Norwich City boss David Wagner set for new role.

David Wagner has completed his return to football coaching one year after being fired as Norwich City’s manager.

However, instead of returning to management, the German has accepted the position of head of youth development at Bundesliga club RB Leipzig, as originally reported by Sky Sports Germany and Sports Bild and now confirmed by the club. Wagner will succeed Manuel Baum in the position and will be charged with developing some highly regarded prospects at the German club, as part of the Red Bull football empire led by his close buddy Jurgen Klopp, global head of football. “Working with young talents is a big passion of mine,” Wagner told Leipzig’s official media. “My coaching experiences in Germany and abroad have provided me with invaluable knowledge that I can now consciously use to youth development.
