Exclusive: Bolton Wanderers set to battle Doncaster Rovers for Chelsea transfer agreement.
According to FLW, Bolton are considering taking Sharman-Lowe on loan for the 2025-26 season, following his impressive performances for Doncaster Rovers in League Two.
Prior to last summer’s temporary move to the Keepmoat Stadium, Sharman-Lowe had only played 27 senior games, the majority of which were with Havant & Waterlooville of the National League South in the 2022-23 season.
Nonetheless, Doncaster took a chance on Sharman-Lowe, and the 22-year-old went on to play all 46 games for Grant McCann’s side, which won League Two.
Sharman-Lowe kept 13 clean sheets in the fourth tier of English football, conceding only 50 goals, and was part of a team that went unbeaten in their last 11 league games to secure a spot in League One for the following season.
His form has impressed Bolton and Steven Schumacher, who are now preparing to launch a loan bid for the England under-21 international, who was first capped by Lee Carsley in a 4-2 victory over Portugal in March.
Doncaster Rovers are also interested in re-signing Teddy Sharman-Lowe.
Doncaster and Bolton are both interested in reuniting with Sharman-Lowe, according to sources.
Doncaster manager Grant McCann appears to have been very impressed with what Sharman-Lowe had to offer during the previous season and is looking into a repeat loan deal, which he could be in charge of given the Chelsea man’s experience.
More clubs may come calling for Sharman-Lowe in the coming weeks as Chelsea decides what to do next with the 22-year-old, but Bolton are certainly looking to outbid one of next season’s divisional rivals, Donny, for his services.
