Exclusive: Chansiri rejects two bids for Sheffield Wednesday ace, he’s ‘refusing to talk’ to other clubs

One Sheffield Wednesday player is attracting Premier League attention, but Dejphon Chansiri has stated unequivocally that the Owls will not move him.

Sheffield Wednesday have lost numerous first-team players this summer, including Josh Windass, Michael Smith, and Callum Paterson on free transfers, as well as Djeidi Gassama and Anthony Musaba for considerably less than their market value.

There is growing anxiety that the remaining talents in S6 will go, and one player drawing attention is goalkeeper Pierce Charles.

Charles, who has established himself as Sheffield Wednesday and Northern Ireland’s No. 1 goalkeeper, has made significant progress in the last year, and while Premier League clubs have taken notice, Chansiri is’refusing to talk’ with any possible bidders.

Dejphon Chansiri will not sell Pierce Charles

Pierce Charles, a Sheffield Wednesday shot-stopper, has gained a name in S6, having surpassed James Beadle as Danny Rohl’s go-to shot-stopper by the end of the 2024/25 season. The Sheffield Wednesday ace was anticipated to spark Premier League interest, but the Owls’ owner has adopted a risky approach.

According to EFL Analysis transfer writer Graeme Bailey, Sheffield Wednesday chairman Dejphon Chansiri is refusing to negotiate with any teams over Pierce Charles and has turned down two offers for the player this summer.

We can divulge that Charles is one of three or four players who have been paid on time, with the exception of one month, and he is prioritising the players with value to pay on time so that he may control their destinies, of which Charles is one.

This summer, West Ham and Rangers will make two bids, with both clubs paying huge sums of cash up front to aid with cash flow. However, clubs have now moved away since Wednesday refuses to entertain proposals.

We can also confirm that Charles is being instructed by the kitman as Wednesday looks for a new goalie coach. He is eager to go on, but the club is presently standing in his way. Sheffield Wednesday are now refusing to talk to potential suitors.

Pierce Charles is the big man at Sheffield Wednesday now

He may have played second fiddle to loanee James Beadle last season, but there is no doubt who is Sheffield Wednesday’s number one this season.

Pierce Charles has improved dramatically over the previous year and is now considered as one of the best young goalkeepers in the game, as evidenced by the fact that top-flight clubs are vying for his signature.

Charles is undoubtedly the most significant and valued player on the Sheffield Wednesday roster today. His performance against Leicester City last week demonstrated how important he will be to the Owls’ chances of staying up this season.

The Northern Irishman made more stops than any other second-tier ‘keeper in the opening weekend, and if he stays with Wednesday, he’ll be kept busy for weeks to come.
