The summer transfer window closes on Monday, September 1, and League One clubs will be trying to confirm their rosters for the first half of the season.
Cardiff City has been the standout team in the third division in the first few weeks of the season, winning four of their first five games, while pre-season favourites Huddersfield Town are hot on their heels in second place.
Nonetheless, there will be many twists and turns in the coming weeks and months, and a single signing could change the fate of every club in the division.
Luton Town still has to improve if they want to move up the League One table, and they are one of several clubs in the division interested in a former Middlesbrough forward.
Exclusive: Luton Town compete against League One rivals for Toyosi Olusanya

Following exclusive information from our Chief Football Correspondent, Graeme Bailey, EFL Analysis knows that several League One and League Two clubs are interested in signing Toyosi Olusanya.
The former Middlesbrough striker joined MLS side Houston Dynamo from St. Mirren earlier this year, but his opportunities have been limited.
We can now tell that a number of clubs are discussing a potential loan deal for the 27-year-old.
League One and League Two clubs Blackpool, Luton, Bolton, Northampton, and Bristol Rovers, as well as Scottish sides Hibernian and Dundee United, have expressed interest.
Toyosi Olusanya has battled with consistency in front of the goal
Olusanya has struggled since joining the Houston Dynamo, appearing in only nine games and failing to score.

He had a little better success in Scotland, netting eight goals in 31 Scottish Premiership games for St. Mirren in 2024/25. It was by far his best football season, during which he scored one-third of his career goals.
However, these issues are not new. After moving to Middlesbrough from Billericay in 2021, the now-27-year-old struggled to establish himself at the Riverside Stadium. He made only three games for Teesside’s senior team, failing to score in any of them.
A transfer to League One could be the perfect opportunity for Olusanya to get back on track, however it remains to be seen whether he can score consistently in the third tier.
