According to Sky Sports analyst Lee Hendrie, Derby County ought to try to sign midfielder Lewis Travis by negotiating with Blackburn Rovers.
As FLW exclusively disclosed this week, John Eustace, 45, is eager to see his former captain Travis again at Pride Park this summer after leaving Blackburn to take charge at Derby in February.
Journalist Alan Nixon has revealed that ambitious newly-promoted Championship team Wrexham is also interested in Travis, who is thought to be valued at £2 million by Rovers.
As a result, the Rams are not the only team planning a bid for the midfield player. After being brought back into the fold at Ewood Park last season by Eustace, Travis spent the second part of the 2023–24 season on loan at Ipswich Town. He scored two goals and provided one assist in 39 games as Blackburn just missed out on the playoffs.
Travis stated in March that he was eager to remain with Rovers for the long run, but he acknowledged that no negotiations had yet been held regarding an extension of his current contract, which is set to expire next summer. As he continues to draw interest from other teams, it is unclear if his 11-year tenure in Lancashire will soon come to an end.
John Eustace watches the Lewis Travis reunion at Derby County, and Lee Hendrie responds.

Having seen Travis’ career grow over the years, Hendrie felt that the Blackburn player would be a great addition to the Rams and that Derby should try to reach an agreement to sign him this summer in an exclusive interview with Football League World.
Derby are hoping to take Lewis Travis from Blackburn‘, Hendrie stated.
John Eustace, who worked with Travis, is aware of his influence and what he stands for. As a young player, I saw him play, and he has since stepped up and taken over.
“I genuinely believe he would be an excellent addition to Derby. As I mentioned, Eustace is familiar with him and understands the important role he may play. “So, I think he would be a great signing for Derby.”
Lewis Travis might be persuaded to switch from Blackburn Rovers to Derby County by the John Eustace factor.

Travis is not the only Blackburn player Derby is interested in this summer; according to another FLW exclusive last month, Eustace is also aiming to reunite with attacker Andreas Weimann and defender Danny Batth. However, he may be the most difficult of the three to sign.
Wrexham, who are anticipated to be among the biggest spenders outside the Premier League this summer, is vying for Travis’ signing in addition to the Rams being priced out of a transfer by his reputed £2 million valuation.
In order to relocate to the Racecourse Ground over Pride Park, the Welsh team might be able to provide him with a far more attractive cash deal.
Nonetheless, Travis has expressed his satisfaction with Eustace’s work at Blackburn, calling him a “really down to earth, honest person” who “speaks to everyone with respect” in September. Consequently, the chance to play for the Derby head coach once more may have a big impact on his choice.
