Exclusive: Leicester Add ‘Unbelievable’ Manager to Shortlist to Replace van Nistelrooy

According to GIVEMESPORT sources, Leicester City has put Bristol City manager Liam Manning on their shortlist of candidates to succeed Rud Van Nistelrooy in the event that he departs.

Despite a disappointing Premier League campaign this season, the Foxes secured their relegation to the Championship with a decisive victory over Southampton this past weekend, their first since defeating Tottenham in January.

However, changes are still anticipated in the dugout at King Power Stadium this summer. According to GMS sources, club management and van Nistelrooy are scheduled to discuss his immediate future this week, with a high likelihood that a change will be made at the end of the season.

The Foxes are likely to make a decision on the future of current coach Van Nistelrooy imminently, with the process being led by chairman Aiyawatt “Top” Srivaddhanaprabha and Jon Rudkin.

Rudkin’s future is also under investigation at the club, but he is now the guy leading the succession planning.

Manning has been added to the shortlist of potential arrivals for the upcoming season following his incredible season with Bristol City, which has been called “unbelievable.” He has guided the Robins to the playoffs with 68 points, the second-highest total they have had since their 2015 promotion.

It has already been confirmed that legendary striker Jamie Vardy will leave when his contract with Leicester City expires this summer, and there is interest in Nigerian international Wilfred Ndidi due to a £9 million relegation release clause in his contract.

In addition to Manning, GMS sources understand that Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl is also being considered for the position, but he is also a target for fellow relegated team Southampton as well as clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Two other names being considered are veteran manager Sean Dyche and former Saints manager Russell Martin.

Premier League teams Crystal Palace and Everton are rumored to be making a bid to get him, so the Foxes are expecting a lot of attention and will have to fight to keep him. Due to Al-Ahli’s past interest in the 28-year-old, Saudi teams are also anticipated to compete.

Goalie Mads Hermansen is also anticipated to get a lot of interest following a run of outstanding performances this season, even though the team was relegated.

GIVEMESPORT sources can disclose that Leicester will demand roughly £35m from any interested clubs, since he is not a player they want to lose from their roster.
