Exclusive: Leyton Orient respond to Huddersfield’s seven-figure Galbraith bid

Huddersfield Town’s £1.5 million deal for Leyton Orient’s Ethan Galbraith has been rejected, according to Football Insider.

Galbraith, who came up through the ranks at Manchester United, had a great 2024-25 season with Leyton Orient, guiding the club to the League One play-off final, where they were defeated by Charlton.

The 24-year-old’s versatility for Orient, where he primarily plays right back and in various midfield positions, has piqued the interest of several clubs, including Huddersfield, Charlton Athletic, and Swansea City.

Orient has now turned down offers from all three clubs for the Northern Ireland international.

After failing to earn promotion and with the player nearing the final year of his contract, Brisbane Road faces a battle to keep him.

Huddersfield will be aiming for promotion to the Championship next season, whilst a move to Charlton or Swansea would provide Galbraith with an immediate opportunity to play in the second tier.

He appeared in 51 games across all competitions in 2024-25, scoring six goals and assisting eight times.

After excelling on loan with Salford City, the four-cap Northern Ireland star joined Leyton Orient on a free transfer in 2023.

He has now played 111 League One games but has yet to play in the Championship or Premier League, having only appeared for Manchester United in the Europa League.

Bristol City swoop for League One star

Meanwhile, Football Insider reported on June 19 that Bristol City are in advanced talks to recruit Plymouth Argyle star midfielder Adam Randell.

Randell, 24, impressed for Argyle in defensive midfield despite being relegated from the Championship in 2024-25.

The Plymouth academy graduate is in the final year of his contract at Home Park.
