Jesse Derry, who rejected a professional contract at Crystal Palace, is now free to speak with interested clubs starting next week, according to Football Insider sources.

 

Paris Saint-Germain, RB Leipzig, and Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in signing the 17-year-old winger, who is expected to leave Selhurst Park after his contract expires.

His potential move abroad will be a major blow to Palace, as they will only receive minimal training compensation compared to if he moved to an English club.

Derry, an England Under-18 international, is highly regarded after impressing for club and country at youth level, and foreign suitors are eager to lure him away from the UK.

According to Football Insider, Celtic and Rangers are interested in signing Derry, with a move to Scotland potentially leading to a higher compensation fee.

The race for the teenager’s signature is heating up, and with his departure looking increasingly likely, those back at Selhurst Park are likely to prefer a move within the United Kingdom.

Derry has impressed in the U18 Premier League, scoring nine goals and providing one assist in eight appearances, earning him a chance to prove himself in Palace’s Under-21 squad.

The academy product has also represented England at the Under-17, Under-18, and Under-19 levels, following in the footsteps of many talented young players who now play in the Premier League.

Oliver Glasner has promoted Justin Devenny and Caleb Kporha to the first-team squad this season, but Derry will not receive the same opportunity.

 

According to Football Insider (March 21), Liverpool could sign Marc Guehi for £60 million. The centre-back has been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park in recent transfer windows.

After the current season, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Eberechi Eze may leave South London, leaving Glasner with a number of issues to address for the following season.
