Exclusive: Millwall take up contract option on defender.
Millwall have exercised an option to extend Wes Harding’s contract until the summer of 2026.
The 28-year-old centre-back, who scored in their FA Cup defeat to Crystal Palace, was set to become a free agent at the end of June.
However, the South London Press understands that the Lions signed a 12-month extension on Harding, which had to be activated by a certain deadline.
The former Rotherham United player has made eight appearances across all competitions this season.
Millwall has a number of players who will be out of contract this summer, including Shaun Hutchinson and Murray Wallace, both centre backs.
George Honeyman, George Saville, Joe Bryan, and Duncan Watmore will all see their current contracts expire soon.
Harding has four goals in 34 appearances for the South Londoners.
He spent three seasons with Rotherham United before becoming a free agent in July 2023 and joining Millwall.
