Exclusive: Motherwell agree deal to sign Birmingham defender Emmanuel Longelo.

Motherwell have agreed to sign Birmingham City defender Emmanuel Longelo, according to Football Insider sources.
The 24-year-old former West Ham youth will sign a permanent contract with the Scottish Premiership club.
According to sources, Longelo has agreed to terms with Motherwell and will travel to Scotland to complete the transfer.
He was down the pecking order at Birmingham after spending last season on loan at Cambridge United.
Motherwell agree deal for West Ham academy product
Longelo progressed through West Ham’s academy, starting at the under-10 level and worked his way up the levels. In September 2020, the left-back earned his senior debut for the Hammers in a 5-1 EFL Cup win over Hull City.
The 24-year-old moved permanently to Birmingham in January 2023 for a reported sum of £400,000. Longelo started only three League One games last season while on loan with Cambridge, with the majority of his playing time coming early in the season.
The Englishman is expected to join Motherwell, who hired former IFK Göteborg head coach Jens Berthel Askou as their new manager last month.

Meanwhile, Football Insider understands that Port Vale and Blackpool are preparing bids for Aston Villa custodian Filip Marschall.
The 22-year-old spent last season in League Two with Crewe Alexandra, having previously played for MK Dons and Gateshead.
Port Vale and Blackpool are interested in signing Marschall on loan or permanently as they strive to improve their goalkeeping options ahead of the new season.
Villa are prepared to unload the custodian, who has struggled for promotion to the first squad, where Emiliano Martinez has long been the entrenched number one.
