Exclusive: Nottingham Forest told £50m Jacob Ramsey offer will be accepte
According to reports, Nottingham Forest may be able to outbid rivals for Aston Villa striker Jacob Ramsey with an offer of £50 million.
Senior writer Pete O’Rourke discussed what sources have informed him about the 24-year-old’s future and possible destination should he depart Villa Park in an interview with the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.
Given the appeal of European football and their readiness to spend heavily, Forest would be likely to outbid rivals for his services.
This comes after it was exclusively reported by Football Insider in May that Ramsey is dissatisfied at Aston Villa and may try to move in order to get more consistent playing time.
Morgan Gibbs-White’s future is still up in the air, but Forest has set their sights on the midfield player and is ready to make a move.
Despite doubts over Ramsey’s position on the team, veteran Villa scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that the club may accept high bids for him.
Aston Villa respond to Nottingham Forest interest in Jacob Ramsey
On July 8, Football Insider reported that Ramsey and Morgan Rodgers are still important components of Villa’s ambitions, and they are “desperate” to hold onto them this summer.
Villa is no longer under pressure to cash in after resolving their PSR difficulties by selling the women’s squad prior to the June 30 financial deadline.
O’Rourke clarified that despite Villa Park’s slow start to the transfer season, Unai Emery is eager to hang onto his finest players, but a sizable offer might compel the team to make a move.
He told Football Insider, “I believe Forest could reach the £40–50 million mark.”
That alone would persuade Villa to sell him.
Naturally, playing European football at the City Ground the following season could provide them an advantage over other Premier League teams that are also interested in Ramsey.
“I believe Villa would want to hang onto Ramsey for the time being.
“Unai Emery hopes to retain his finest players after they have handled their PSR difficulties, as they haven’t been extremely busy in the window thus far.
“Ramsey still has a part to play at Villa, but Forest would be the front-runners if a big offer were to come in for him.”
Morgan Gibbs-White update after Tottenham medical twist

On July 18, Football Insider reported that despite the “messy” circumstances in which Forest threatened legal action, Tottenham is anticipated to sign Gibbs-White.
Forest vowed to file a lawsuit against Tottenham for allegedly approaching Gibbs-White illegally as they had never granted consent for the negotiations.
Prior to Forest putting the clamps on, the offensive midfielder was scheduled to have a medical at Spurs’ training facility last week after accepting the transfer.
