Exclusive: Sheffield Wednesday warned of “massive danger” by Sky Sports pundit

Lee Hendrie has urged Sheffield Wednesday to take immediate action to resolve their internal issues in anticipation

of Akin Famewo’s impending transfer to Hull City.

The 26-year-old left Hillsborough and is currently being pursued by the Tigers as a free agent, according to Hull Live

Due to unpaid salaries, the defender’s contract was terminated, and he left the Owls in three of the preceding four

months, joining Josh Windass and Michael Smith.

Famewo made 13 appearances for Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship last season, which helped Danny Rohl’s

team finish in 12th position.

Lee Hendrie makes Sheffield Wednesday plea

According to Hendrie, Sheffield Wednesday will suffer yet another setback heading into the upcoming Championship

season after losing Famewo.

According to him, the players need hope for the future of the squad in order to support it, as the problems at the top

of the organisation are now affecting everyone.

Hendrie told Football League World exclusively, “There’s no doubt that losing Akin Famewo to Hull would be a

massive blow.”

“I believe that when you consider the current circumstances on Wednesday, you can see that Windass, Famewo, and

others are doing and not doing a lot of things.

“It really just spells out enormous danger.”

As it spreads, the players in the squad are expressing that they didn’t want Danny Rohl back or there.

“I believe that all of these issues are now beginning to flow from the top to the bottom, and this is a problem—it truly

is.

“There’s no denying that they’ll be thinking more positively when you’re losing players, especially important players,

and they’re being linked away. This is especially true when the club is currently in such disarray; it needs to be fixed.”

“It must be settled as soon as possible so that the players can support their plans and actions.“And this is why players

are turning their head, and it wouldn’t surprise me if this happens, but it’d be a massive blow again for Sheffield

Wednesday, which we keep talking about.”

Sheffield Wednesday will get their new season underway on 10 August with a trip to face Leicester City.

Famewo departure is just the latest disaster at Sheffield Wednesday

On the surface, losing Famewo isn’t a big deal because he wasn’t that important in the first place.

However, his departure is yet another significant setback for the squad due to the behind-the-scenes convergence of

all these various reasons.

Their squad is extremely weak heading into the new season, thus they cannot afford for these players to leave the

club for free given their financial difficulties.

Dejphon Chansiri’s ownership must be resolved swiftly for Sheffield Wednesday to avoid a protracted season.
