Exclusive: Sky Sports pundit drops “pressure” claim involving Huddersfield Town and Lee Grant

Lee Hendrie anticipates that Huddersfield Town will manage the “pressure” that comes with their successful transfer window thus far.

After being relegated to the third division, the Terriers had a dismal season the last time around and were unable to advance to the League One play-offs.

As a result, owner Kevin Nagle made a change this summer by appointing Lee Grant as the new head coach. The former Manchester United coach has had some support in the market.

In addition to pursuing Birmingham’s Marc Leonard, Huddersfield has been active in the transfer window thus far, acquiring players like Marcus McGuane, Lynden Gooch, and Alfie May.

Lee Hendrie backs Huddersfield Town to cope with promotion expectation

As a result, many analysts believe Huddersfield will be considered for automatic promotion in May. Hendrie, a Sky

Sports analyst, told FLW exclusively that he believes they can handle that level of expectation.

Pressure will always be present, and Lee Grant will need to perform well given their performance this season.

“You do feel that they have to start producing when you bring in players like McGuane and May to the football club,

along with obviously others. The personnel they brought in during the summer means that there will always be that

extra pressure because you’re bringing in players of that calibre.”

However, I believe they will deliver. They have some big hitters that have slipped down, but they are doing well, and

Grant is responsible for getting the players to perform well on the practice field and on game day. They have brought

guys that can adjust and play in League One.

Huddersfield Town have backed Lee Grant this summer

We are aware of Nagle’s lofty goals for Huddersfield, but he has undoubtedly made mistakes since purchasing the

team.

Fans will be happy with the way this summer is unfolding, though. Given his inexperience, Grant’s nomination was a

risky one.

However, the club seems to have made a good purchase, especially with May’s arrival, since the rookie manager has

received support during the transfer window and can be the prolific goal scorer they have been lacking.

As Hendrie states, they will be able to handle the strain since they have a good balance of youth and experience, and

it’s noteworthy that several of the players have been there and done it in League One before.

It goes without saying that there must be some patience with Grant at first because the team has changed and it may

take some time for them to get along on the pitch.

It is now up to the new manager to prepare the team for the upcoming season, which Huddersfield will approach

with a great deal of excitement, but he will undoubtedly appreciate the support he has received.
