Coventry City have now hardlined their stance on Jack Rudoni by setting a significant £15 million asking price for the star midfielder amid interest from Southampton, sources have exclusively informed Football League World on Tuesday morning.
The Saints will have to pay a high price to lure the playmaker away from Championship rivals Coventry, who have expressed an interest in obtaining his services after an electrifying debut season at the CBS Arena.
Rudoni joined Coventry from Huddersfield Town last summer for a reputed £5 million, signing a four-year contract. The 24-year-old midfielder returned Coventry’s faith by scoring 10 goals and assisting 13 times across all competitions, helping Frank Lampard’s side finish in the top six.

The Sky Blues want to keep Rudoni beyond this summer’s transfer window to improve their chances of promotion in May, and Southampton will have to chip in to get the move done.
Coventry City’s £15m Jack Rudoni asking price after rejecting Southampton bid
According to Football League World, Coventry have set a £15 million price tag on Rudoni, which appears to be a clear attempt to fight off interest elsewhere and guarantee he spends a second season in the West Midlands after such an impressive debut season.
For the time being, it’s uncertain whether Southampton will match the Sky Blues’ valuation.

Last week, Jack Rosser of The Sun reported that Coventry had rejected a bid from Southampton that was far lower than the club’s asking price, which FLW has now heard is no less than £15 million, though it’s unclear how much the Saints offered to try and attract Rudoni to the south coast.
Coventry, on the other hand, are not in a hurry to trade Rudoni and are confident in his future, having established himself as one of the most outstanding creative midfield operators in the Championship in recent years.
The versatile Rudoni is most comfortable as an offensive midfielder, but he can also play in a deeper midfield role and on the left flank as a winger or wing-back, having played in all three positions under Lampard in the 2024/25 season.
Coventry City’s Jack Rudoni could be Mateus Fernandes replacement at Southampton
Southampton’s interest in Rudoni is understandable, given that promising 21-year-old midfielder Mateus Fernandes is expected to leave St Mary’s before the current transfer window closes on September 1.

The Portuguese under-21 international was one of only a few Southampton players to stand out in a historically poor season in which the team was relegated to the Championship with just 12 points.
Fernandes, who came on as a second-half substitute in Southampton’s dramatic 2-1 win over newly promoted Wrexham on the opening weekend, has two goals and four assists in the Premier League and has sparked considerable transfer interest.
Atlético Madrid and West Ham United are the latest clubs reportedly interested in signing Fernandes, who is valued at £30 million by Southampton.
If the Saints were to collect that sum for Fernandes, monies would be freed up for head coach Will Still to return to the market and look for a successor, and Rudoni, who gives a comparable creative and energetic presence in advanced midfield, would undoubtedly fit the bill.
