Exeter City confirm the signing of Reading FC forward.

Exeter City have signed Reading striker Jayden Wareham on a two-year agreement. The 22-year-old joined the Royals’ youth squad in 2023 before progressing to the first team. Going from bit-part to regular first-teamer, the Chelsea prospect turned down a new offer from Reading to join the Grecians.
He transfers to St James Park after scoring seven goals in nearly 50 appearances, and will formally join Exeter on July 1 after his contract in Berkshire expires.
Last season, Wareham scored within 90 seconds for Reading in a 2-1 victory over Gary Caldewell’s team in Devon.
Exeter have shown faith in the youthful forward for the forthcoming League One season, as the contract includes an option for an additional year.
This blow for Reading comes on the same day that Amadou Mbengue, a fan favourite, leaves for Queens Park Rangers.
