Fabrizio Romano ‘deal on’ update offers Leeds United transfer boost amid Liverpool links

NoKostas Tsimikas, a left-back for Liverpool, has been linked to Leeds United.

  1. According to rumors, Liverpool is getting closer to signing Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, which could increase Leeds United’s hopes of making a summer transfer

Leeds has recently mentioned Tsimikas as a potential target since they need a first-choice left-back in case Junior Firpo departs in a few weeks when his contract expires.

Lewis Steele, the Daily Mail’s Liverpool writer, gave a further update on Wednesday night about their interest in the Greek international defender, which was first revealed earlier this month.

Steele, who is also believed to be a target for French team LOSC Lille and Spanish team Valencia, listed Leeds as one of three potential destinations for Tsimikas  in an interview on his own YouTube channel. According to the Daily Mail journalist, Tsimikas’ chances of going this summer are likely to be closer to 80 to 85 percent.

It would be unfortunate for him to leave, but Liverpool’s acquisition of Kerkez seems to be the right move at the right time.

He hasn’t been flawless by any means, but he is somewhat of a cult figure and is adored by the team.

The decision to sell at left-back, with at least one of Tsimikas or the seasoned Andy Robertson now anticipated to depart, was probably influenced by that interest in Kerkez. And before the transfer market officially opens on Sunday, it looks like a deal for the Bournemouth star is gaining significant traction.

Long before the 2024–25 season finished, Liverpool decided that Kerkez was their top target for a left-back. The Hungarian international is anticipated to cost over £40 million. Additionally, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano gave a positive update while negotiations with Bournemouth continue over that transaction.

When the official window begins on June 16, it is feasible for Tsimikas to find regular football elsewhere. The 29-year-old, who finished the season with two assists in 29 games across all competitions, accepted his Premier League winners’ medal earlier this month and wrote an impassioned letter to Liverpool supporters after raising the trophy last weekend. “As a kid kicking a ball in Greece, I could never imagine this day – lifting the Premier League trophy as a @liverpoolfc player,” he wrote in an Instagram post.

“This city, this team, and these supporters have supported us at every turn, and my five years at this club have taught me what it means to never walk alone. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished and thankful to everyone who has supported us. Together, we conquered all obstacles.
