A FAMILY firm that specialises in fireplaces is still open for business after the closure of its sister cookware shop in the city centre.
Dinghams Direct, based in Churchfields, has continued to provide wood-burning stoves and other heating options after sister company Dinghams Cookware, located at 28 Market Place, closed at the end of February.
The cookware store closed after encountering “significant challenges” such as increased expenses, shifting consumer habits, and external economic pressures.
Its closure occurred just before an increase in employer National Insurance contributions went into effect in April.
Dinghams Direct, founded by siblings David and Sarah Hardingham, has over 40 years of experience selling fireplaces.
A company spokesperson stated, “Since arriving in the UK from South Africa in 1982, the Hardingham family has supplied a wide range of woodburners, gas and electric fireplaces to homes throughout the region, developing a deep-rooted passion for providing exceptional fireplace products and personalised customer service.”
“Despite the recent closure of our sister company, Dinghams Cookware, we are pleased to confirm that Dinghams Direct – specialists in woodburning stoves, gas and electric fires, and Everhot cookers – remains fully open and operating as usual.”
They added: “Located at 4 Paxton Business Centre, Churchfields, Dinghams Direct continues to serve customers in Salisbury and Wiltshire with a wide range of premium fireplaces and heating solutions.”
“Today, Dinghams Direct provides a complete assortment of woodburning stoves, gas and electric fires, fireplaces, and Everhot cookers.
“Whether you’re renovating your home or upgrading your current heating system, we are here to help you find the perfect solution.”
