Confirmed first-year students for

With great pleasure, Charlton Athletic presents the nine academy players who have been awarded two-year scholarships to play for the team. “I would like to wish all of our new first-year scholars the very best of luck during their next two years with us here in the full-time Professional Development Phase program,” said Academy Manager Tom Pell, speaking on behalf of the whole staff. “Having a full-time curriculum that covers a wide range of subjects can be very difficult, especially for those who have just finished their GCSEs.
This group will be no different from any other year group in order to maintain the unique atmosphere of our academy. We will prioritise them and foster a collective mindset in addition to a supportive and demanding workplace. “Kieran Culleton and our Youth Development Phase staff have done a wonderful job in preparing the boys as best as possible for full-time football, so now we look forward to the next stage of their development under the tutelage of Jason Pearce and our Professional Development Phase team.”
Taku Muvhuti, who joined the Addicks during the pre-academy stage before signing at the U9 level, is the team’s longest-serving first-year scholar. Muvhuti is an excellent defender who excels at one-on-one defence. He is also rapidly developing his physicality to meet the demands of U18 football. Michael Mylona, a former Tottenham Hotspur player, joined the team’s academy at the U12 level. Mylona, who concluded his U16 season with 35 goals and 11 assists, is a dynamic one-on-one player who can do unusual things to both score and create.
After making an impression in a showcase match against the Addicks, Kayode Peterkin joined the club’s academy setup as an U15. Peterkin is a steady finisher in front of goal and a swift and strong attacker who puts in endless effort to run in behind and press defenders. At the U15 level, Kacper Podgorny joined the Addicks’ academy despite other teams showing interest. Podgorny is an offensive midfielder who excels with the ball, can penetrate defences, and frequently defeats opponents in one-on-one matches. Harry Randall is a powerful and commanding central midfielder who can also play centre back thanks to his versatility. Randall can reclaim possession with powerful defensive moves and has a great range of passing, frequently devastating defences with longer passes or switches of play.
Raynon Richman is a powerful and intimidating attacker who can play any position in the front line. Richman is a driven and dedicated individual who enjoys challenging players and has great success in one-on-one fights. Ed Thomas is a smart, composed midfielder who enjoys having the ball at his feet and instills a sense of composure in the team. He is frequently the player the team can count on to keep possession at trying times. In addition to being a tenacious midfielder out of possession, Thomas, who won the 2025 Steve Clarke Trophy, demonstrates true versatility by playing a variety of positions.
