Florent Ghisolfi ‘eyes £8.6m Sunderland transfer’ after Jordan Henderson update

The most recent Sunderland transfer rumours as the Black Cats continue their remarkable comeback in preparation

for their Premier League comeback

With the estimated £20.5 million cost for Brighton winger Simon Adingra, Sunderland appears poised to make

another huge splash. Yesterday, the Ivory Coast winger arrived in the North East to finish a medical and other

requirements before joining the Black Cats.

Negotiations for Tommy Watson began in January, and Sunderland had their sights set on the dynamic 23-year-old

winger. But neither party was able to reach an agreement.

A few months later, Adingra is about to become Sunderland’s sixth summer acquisition. He will be wearing a red and

white shirt next season with Enzo Le Fee, Habib Diarra, Noah Sadiki, Reinildo Mandava, and Chemsdine Talbi.

With Kristjaan Speakman and Florent Ghisolfi as their new director of football, Sunderland’s recruitment squad has

had an unexpected but outstanding start to the summer transfer window.

Given that Jordan Henderson has been frequently associated with an emotional homecoming, all eyes are now on

the Black Cats’ next target. There were rumours that the 35-year-old would return to Sunderland because he was

there to watch his boyhood team be promoted back to the Premier League.

Following the confirmation of Henderson’s departure from Ajax earlier this week, transfer rumours resumed, with

many Premier League teams reportedly interested in signing him.

As Chronicle Live reported earlier in the window, the Black Cats are not in talks with the England international and

he isn’t currently on their transfer wishlist after the arrivals of Sadiki and Diarra.

However, reports in France claim Sunderland have inquired about signing Marseille midfielder Valentin Rongier.

French media outlet L’Equipe claim Ghisolfi has made contact with OM regarding a potential transfer.

According to the report, Serie A team Como is among those interested in a move for the 30-year-old, although no

firm offer has been made. According to reports, Marseille would demand €10 million (£8.6 million) for the French

midfield player, who is approaching the end of his contract.
