
Former Blues Boss McCarthy Inducted into LMA Hall of Fame
From 2012 to 2018, McCarthy managed 279 games at Portman Road, winning 105, drawing 76, and losing 98, for a 37.63 win %.
In addition to his two stints with the Republic of Ireland, which he led to the 2002 World Cup last 16, the former center-half has held managerial positions at Millwall, Sunderland, Wolves, APOEL Nicosia in Cyprus, Cardiff City, and Blackpool. McCarthy, who was born in Barnsley, has managed 1,042 competitive games overall.
Meanwhile, Ange Postecoglou of Tottenham, Oliver Glasner, Eddie Howe of Newcastle, Arsenal Women’s manager Renee Slegers, and Chelsea Women’s coach Sonia Bompastor all received the John Duncan Award, which honors “those who have achieved historic and notable successes for their clubs this season” and is named after the Town manager of the 1980s.
David Moyes, Jose Mourinho, and Ian Holloway were also inducted into the LMA Hall of Fame 1,000 Club.
The winners of the EFL Manager of the Year titles for each division were Grant McCann of Doncaster, Chris Davies of Birmingham, and Daniel Farke of Leeds.
The Barclays Women’s Super League Manager of the Year award went to Bompastor, and the Barclays Women’s Championship Manager of the Year award went to Portsmouth’s Jay Sadler.
