Welling United have signed former Millwall striker Tom Leahy.

Leahy announced his departure from Millwall last month, after six years with the club.

The striker was a member of the under-21s team that won the Professional Development League National Final in 2023, and he appeared in several first-team matchday squads the following season.

The 21-year-old made his first-team debut on August 17, 2024, coming off the bench to replace Shaun Hutchinson in the Lions’ 4-3 defeat to Bristol City.

Leahy was loaned out to Woking in the National League for the first half of the season, where he scored four goals and assisted four more in seventeen appearances.

He then joined Maidstone United in February, where he scored three goals and provided four assists in ten appearances, helping the club reach the National League South play-off final. Leahy started the match, which the Stones lost 1-0 to Boreham Wood.

Leahy will now join his brother Jack at the Isthmian League Premier Division club, who were relegated from the National League South last season.

Leahy told Welling’s website, “”I’m excited and ready to score goals! I am here to win games.

“I’ve never played on the same team as my brother [Jack], but you can be confident there will be chemistry. He will undoubtedly help me a lot this season.
