Four things spotted in Leeds United training as new leader emerges ahead of Man Utd clash
The second week of preseason training for Leeds United is underway, and the week will conclude with a matchday. Before departing
for Stockholm, where they will play their first preseason match against Manchester United on Saturday, Daniel Farke’s team will
remain at Thorp Arch for a few more days.
The vast majority of the first team players, including four newcomers, have been tested once more this week. The team also uploaded a
little video to YouTube showcasing their activities. The YEP examines four important lessons below in preparation for that weekend
trip to Sweden.
Bornauw settling well
Harrison involved

time.
It remains to be seen how Leeds plan to proceed with Harrison, although some clarity might come this week if he is involved – or not – in Saturday’s pre-season friendly against Manchester United, given there is almost a full squad available. Joe Gelhardt is also briefly spotted in the background of the video, although neither Sam Greenwood nor Darko Gyabi appear.
Ramazani sharp
After been used infrequently by Farke last season due to an ankle injury that kept him out of action for just over a month in the autumn, Largie Ramazani may feel he has much to show this summer. A position on the right wing has become available as loan star Manor Solomon is no longer anticipated to return, and it is up for grabs for whoever does well enough this summer.
Last week, Ramazani told LUTV that he was “flying” and that he was able to capture one of his signature quick bends on camera. Although it’s unclear who punches in a pass, the winger controls it and quickly circles the oncoming Bijol, something that supporters will hopefully see frequently in the upcoming campaign.
New balls please
Leeds’ return to the top-flight also means they’ll be working with a different ball in training – but it’s no longer manufactured by Nike. From the 2025/26 campaign onwards, Puma will still provide match balls for the EFL but also a special design for the Premier League, which is a beauty.
When Leeds takes on Premier League rivals Manchester United on Saturday, Farke’s team will undoubtedly have a good feel for the new ball and its 12-panel design beforehand. From now until May, people like Ramazani and company wish to see it spread throughout the opposition net.
