Everton has had a difficult time lately. However, Isaac Price, a former midfielder, feels the team provided him with the ideal setting to launch his career.
Price made his debut at Arsenal on the last day of the 2021–22 season and was well-liked when he was at the Blues. A few days prior, Everton had defeated Crystal Palace to dramatically cement their place in the Premier League.
But before joining Standard Liege the following summer, he would only play in one more top-flight game. Since joining West Bromwich Albion in January, he has made nine Championship starts as the Baggies look to return to the Premier League.
West Brom is now three points outside of the playoff spots in seventh place in the standings. Frank Lampard, the former Everton manager who gave Price his Blues debut, is the manager of Coventry City, the sixth-place team.
Despite his inability to consistently make the first team, Price spoke positively of his early years at Everton while discussing his career to date.
Frank Lampard was my manager for a year and a half after that, which was a fantastic learning opportunity for me. It was fantastic to learn from him because he is undoubtedly one of the top midfielders in the game.
Additionally, the team included some very talented players. I trained with some of the best players in the world, including Richarlison, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and James Rodriquez. I gained a lot of knowledge from training with guys of that caliber every day.
Price named Lampard as a major influence, which may not have come as a surprise given Ancelotti’s stature and skill as a coach and as an offensive midfielder.
