Why Davide Ancelotti will not be taking Rangers job this summer

After allowing Philippe Clement to depart Ibrox in February, Rangers have been in the process of selecting a new permanent manager for the upcoming campaign.

Davide Ancelotti, the assistant manager of Real Madrid, is one of the prospects the Scottish club has identified.

We reported on Spanish reports three days ago that Rangers are the top team vying for the 35-year-old.

Before it was reported elsewhere in Spain that he might continue working with his father, it was also said that he was almost ready to accept the open position at Ibrox.

He has worked alongside his father on several occasions and is currently a member of Real Madrid’s backroom staff under Carlo Ancelotti.

Rangers are thought to have given Davide the chance to manage a club on his own, as he hasn’t done so before.

If journalist Alberto Pereiro of Onda Cero is to be believed, the Italian will not be joining Rangers or any other club anytime soon.

He announced that Carlo and Davide would not be splitting up on X, the platform that was formerly known as Twitter.

According to the Spanish writer, Carlo will be leaving Real Madrid to take a managerial position in Brazil, and his son will travel with him to South America until the 2026 World Cup.

Thus, Davide will not be accepting the Rangers position this summer if Albero Pereiro is right.
