Gordon Strachan says Dundee set for ‘new philosophy’ with next boss as Dens chief reveals appointment timeline

Gordon Strachan says Dundee set for ‘new philosophy’ with next boss as Dens chief reveals appointment timeline.

After firing Tony Docherty, the Dark Blues are looking for a new manager.

Gordon Strachan, technical director, claims that a “new philosophy” would start at Dundee with the hiring of a new management.

After firing Tony Docherty, the Dark Blues are now searching for a new manager for the third time in four years.

Docherty guided the Dens Park team to Premiership safety, but the club says the results were not up to par.

Courier Sport announced on Wednesday that the hunt for his replacement would now go for a third week.

Strachan, the club’s technical director, has now verified the timeline, stating that a new hire might be hired “within the next eight days.”

John Nelms, the managing director, has started a backroom shake-up, so there will be more changes than just a new manager.

Nelms “understands what is required.”

“John currently has a short list. They’re not all little folks, though! To the Edinburgh Evening News, Strachan made a joke.

Simply said, John will be speaking with four or five people over the course of the next two weeks. He is aware of what is required and the kind of management he wants.

He has had three different managers in the past three years. However, every management ought to take pride in their accomplishments.

“Because Tony took over as manager after we were promoted to the Scottish Premiership under Gary Bowyer.

John has now determined that he needs something different, therefore he is currently accomplishing that.

“I think there will likely be an announcement and a change in the coaching staff’s actual responsibilities within the next eight days.

“To be honest with you, there will be a new philosophy in the coaching.”
