Graham Alexander, manager of Bradford City, is happy with the team.

The Bantams manager reminds the team to concentrate on new hires.

Bradford City manager Graham Alexander has expressed his satisfaction with the squad as preparations intensify ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 League Two campaign. With preseason training underway and several key players retained, Alexander believes his team is in a strong position to challenge for promotion.

Speaking after an intense week of training sessions, Alexander highlighted the unity, work ethic, and growing chemistry within the squad. “The lads have come back with great energy and focus,” he said. “You can see they’re hungry and committed. That’s exactly what we need going into this season.”

Following a mixed 2024/25 season that saw glimpses of promise but ended just short of the playoffs, Alexander has used the summer to reinforce his team both mentally and tactically. He praised the club’s recruitment so far and the balance between experienced heads and promising young talent.

Among those expected to play a key role is Bobby Pointon, who impressed last season with consistent performances and maturity beyond his years. Alexander has also placed faith in the likes of Andy Cook and Richie Smallwood to provide leadership on and off the pitch.

“The squad we’re building has strength in depth and a real competitive edge,” the manager added. “We’ve addressed key areas from last season, and the response from the players has been fantastic.”

Preseason friendlies are expected to give Alexander a clearer picture of his strongest lineup, but he remains confident that the foundations are in place for a successful campaign.

With Valley Parade set to welcome back thousands of loyal supporters, there is renewed optimism around the club. For Alexander, the goal is clear: to lead Bradford City back to League One, and he believes the current squad is more than capable of achieving it.
