Hearts continue winger search as transfer target signs for Euro giants.

Daniel Arzani won’t be joining Heart of Midlothian after he completed a deal to Hungarian giants Ferencvaros. The Australian international was a target of the Jam Tarts following an outstanding two seasons in his homeland with Melbourne Victory. After his contract expired, he became a free agent, and the Hearts saw him as a potential addition to their roster.
He has, however, chosen the Hungarian champions, who are managed by Robbie Keane. They have won the last seven league titles and will compete in the Champions League qualification round. Arzani was one of several players on the club’s radar as they investigated and continue to investigate potential targets. Alexandros Kyziridis has already been added ahead of the transfer window, which opens next month. Uchenna Ogundu and Islam Chesnokov are also under consideration, with the club connected with others as they try to recruit at least two more wide players this summer. In addition to Kyziridis, Hearts have signed Christian Borchgrevink and Oisin McEntee, as well as converted Elton Kabangu’s loan into a permanent contract.
They are hopeful of concluding the signing of both Claudio Braga and Stuart Findlay before the start of pre-season next week.
The player, who spent two injury-plagued seasons with Celtic, helped Victory reach the A-League Grand Final before returning to the Australian national squad. He was a member of the Socceroos’ side that qualified for the World Cup next season. He discussed his future while on international assignment. “I think anyone now, any of the boys looking to move or off contract, that thought process will be in their head,” he told me. “It’s a huge deal, the World Cup. It is huge. Everyone wants to be a part of this. It will be quite competitive, and we have a lot of talent coming from Australia as well.
“I think it is definitely important that if I go somewhere that I’ll be playing week in, week out. I’m not sure what I am doing yet, what direction I am heading in but that’s definitely part of the equation.”
