Hibs successfully completed second summer signing worth £2.7m

Sallinger, who signed a three-year contract with the Edinburgh club prior to the 2025–2026 season, departs Hartberg after seven years in which he made a name for himself on and off the pitch. The 29-year-old, who comes from the Austrian Bundesliga with over 100 top-flight games and a reputation for cool authority in goal, is Hibs’ second summer addition after Jamie McGrath.

The 6′ 5″ ‘keeper, who was born in Klagenfurt, was a backup throughout the first few years of his Hartberg career, but he took advantage of the opportunity to ascend to the top spot during the final two and a half seasons. Sallinger reflected on his leaving and said he was very proud of his tenure at the club. He remarked, “I am aware that this choice ends a very significant chapter in my career.”

It was a period of development, memorable experiences, and amazing people. As the starting goalie for the past two and a half years, I’m particularly happy of the contributions I’ve made to the development of this club.

I will always have a special place in my heart for TSV and everyone associated with it. I’m eager about the upcoming challenge at Hibernian now.
