Houghton police investigating ATM break-in connected to stolen truck

Houghton, Michigan (WLUC) – The Houghton Police Department and the Michigan State Police are seeking for the community’s assistance in identifying two men who were engaged in an attempted ATM break-in on Sunday and may have connections to a stolen car.

According to the Houghton Police Department, officers responded to Breakwater Credit Union on Sharon Avenue at 8 a.m. Sunday to investigate a probable break-in. Following further investigation, the department determined that two guys attempted to break into the ATM early Sunday. The two were unsuccessful in their attempt, and no money was taken.

The agency believes the incident is related to a stolen car from the South Range that was later found near Dodgeville. The MSP is conducting additional investigations, as is the Houghton Police Department.
