Plymouth will be backed by over 1,500 fans when they make the long trip to take on Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

 

It has been a turbulent summer for Argyle following their relegation from the Championship, with Tom Cleverley the new manager in place at Home Park after Miron Muslic left to join German second division outfit Schalke.

Major changes have been made to the squad as well, but Cleverley endured a difficult start, as Argyle suffered an opening day defeat to Barnsley on their own patch in a chaotic game.

Now, all attention is on Bolton, who will offer another stern test for the Green Army, with both clubs hoping to be in the mix for promotion come May.

 

Therefore, it should be an exciting game, and Plymouth revealed on their social media that they have sold 1,500 tickets for the game from their initial allocation, which is all they will be given.

 

That is an impressive number when you consider the distance, as those travelling from Plymouth will be taking a near 600-mile round trip, which will mean a relatively early start considering it’s a 3pm kick-off in the north-west.

Of course, long trips are nothing new for the Plymouth faithful, as their location means that virtually every away game can be a difficult one to navigate.

Obviously, there is a bit of added spice to this one due to Steven Schumacher leading the Trotters.

 

Plymouth came up against their former boss when he was at Stoke, the club he left the Pilgrims for, and it’s fair to say a section of the fan base made it clear that they weren’t happy with how Schumacher left.

There was understandably a lot of excitement when the ex-Watford chief arrived, and a win at Bolton would be an early marker for Plymouth, and it will build on the optimism they have moving forward under Cleverley.
