MILLWALL lost their first game of the season at home to Middlesborough 3-0, yet the scoreline arguably doesn’t fully reflect how the contest panned out.
Rob Edwards’ side came to The Den looking for a reaction after an upset in the EFL Cup, when they lost 4-0 at home to Doncaster Rovers. The Boro boss gave a full Championship debut to midfielder Abdoulaye Kante, pushing Hayden Hackney higher up the pitch.
Alex Neil named an unchanged starting side after their 2-1 win against Norwich City in their Championship opener at Carrow Road.
In front of a sold-out Den, Millwall started brightly. They were aggressive in their high press, landed on second balls and won their duels. Billy Mitchell and Casper De Norre were getting the best of their opposit.
