Hull City and Reading FC enter talks to sign West Brom player

Africa Foot reports that the 31-year-old has already contacted two English football clubs regarding a move during the upcoming transfer window.

The Nigerian international’s contract is scheduled to expire at the end of the current campaign, making him a free agent with no chance of an extension at this time.

It is thought that both Hull and Reading are interested in a possible move this summer.

With West Brom currently searching for a new manager, it is anticipated that the defender would leave the team at the end of the current campaign.

Ajayi is thought to have been approached by both Hull and Reading, although it’s still unknown what his future path will go.

After leaving Rotherham United in the summer of 2019, the Nigerian joined the Baggies.

However, after the team was relegated from the Premier League in 2021, his playing time has decreased in consecutive seasons, and he has been progressively demoted.

This season, Ajayi has already made 14 appearances in the Championship.

According to Ajayi’s agent Larry Oban, it is likely that he will leave the Hawthorns because West Brom has shown no genuine interest in him.

He revealed that the 31-year-old is happy at the club, but he is willing to leaving if an offer doesn’t arrive, confirming negotiations with EFL opponents.

According to Africa Foot, Oban stated, “He will definitely leave West Brom because they have not shown any serious intention of renewing his contract.”

He is already in discussions with Reading and Hull, who value his versatility and expertise.
