‘I love him; we want him to stay’: Hunt confirms Reading FC hopeful of keeping attacker

Noel Hunt, the manager of Reading FC, praised winger Chem Campbell and stated that the team is looking at ways

to retain him through the end of the current campaign.

The short-term loan agreement that Campbell signed with from Premier League Wolves has since ended.

Notwithstanding their financial challenges, the team is optimistic that they can extend the contract and retain him

through the end of the current campaign.

Campbell, who has scored five goals and provided four assists in all competitions, has grown into a vital member of

the Royals after a sluggish start to life in Berkshire.

“We want him back, he wants to stay,” Hunt told reporters following Reading’s 0-0 draw against Charlton.

He is a member of our family and of us. Both I and the boys adore him.

He has a wonderful, contagious personality and is one of us. We are negotiating to get things done, and he is

someone you want around the club.

“He wanted to train, but it doesn’t look too bad. He took a knock and wouldn’t have been fit (for Charlton).”

We are merely attempting to keep him here since he has already been with us. That’s what we hope.

To ensure that the conditions are correct, Brian Carey and the club’s representatives have communicated with the

EFL.

“We are working to get things sorted because we want to do everything right.”
