Nottingham Forest will be going in quest of a few new players during the summer transfer window, with European football expected to be on the agenda.
The Reds have five games left of the Premier League campaign, and it’s all to play for in the race to win a spot in next season’s Champions League.
The remaining Premier League games and the summer transfer window may now receive all of the attention after Forest’s 2-0 loss to Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final over the weekend.
The additions of Elliot Anderson and Nikola Milenkovic in the summer of 2024 proved to be highly beneficial for Forest, allowing them to gain valuable lessons.
It should be an interesting close season at the City Ground, but Forest will need to take a similar approach to recruitment this summer given that Europe is on the agenda.
Wilfred Ndidi is now on sale for a discounted price.
Ndidi is scheduled to leave Leicester in the summer after Forest considered him immediately before spending £30 million to get Ibrahim Sangare in the summer of 2023.
Sangare hasn’t yet developed into the Premier League’s expected dominant defensive midfield force, which may force Forest to consider alternative choices this summer.
TalkSPORT claims that three clubs are now interested in signing the Nigerian, who has a £9 million release clause that has been activated due to the Foxes’ Premier League relegation.
Although the story doesn’t name the clubs, they are all Premier League teams, and it seems undeniable that Forest may be one of them.
