“I’m open to everything” – Norwich City player says it’s his choice to leave, shocked by manager exit

According to Lungi Sørensen, a midfielder for Norwich City, he made the choice to leave the Championship team at the end of current season.

The 27-year-old may rejoin the Danish Superliga after his contract with the Canaries expires in the summer.

Sørensen was questioned by Tipsbladet regarding his future and the reasons behind his departure from Norwich City this summer. The Dane clarified that he wants to move on after trying something new in his profession.

I wanted to see something unusual and try something fresh. After five years here, I need to try something new and make new friends,” the midfield player remarked.

The Danish media outlet also asked Sørensen about the dismissal of Glen Riddersholm and Johannes Hoff Thorup last week, and he responded that he was shocked the club let them go.

I was taken aback and didn’t anticipate it. I had assumed that they would have more time to mold the team, but that’s football. The Norwich player stated, “If the results are not there, it will be very short-term and something new will have to happen.”

After joining from Esbjerg fB, the former Denmark U21 international played for Carrow Road for five seasons. He has made over 1000 appearances and scored four goals for the English team.

In the 2021–2022 season, while Norwich City was in the top level, he also made ten Premier League appearances.
