In an attempt to assist Everton defeat Chelsea and Manchester United in the hunt for Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap’s services, David Moyes has met with the player in person.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano said on Saturday that the Toffees are prepared to pay a competitive wage in an attempt to sign the attacker following his stellar Premier League season.
After Kieran McKenna’s team was relegated, there was a great deal of conjecture about Delap’s future heading into the summer transfer season.
Prior to this weekend’s season finale, the 22-year-old, who joined the Tractor Boys from Manchester City this summer, has scored 12 goals in 36 top flight games.

The Scot allegedly visited with the player in person to persuade him to join the team and support their future plans.
The former Man City youth star, who has received high appreciation for his efforts this season, is still a target for Chelsea and Manchester United.
According to Sky Sports, the striker’s contract has a release clause that was activated by Ipswich’s relegation.
After quitting the Premier League, the Suffolk team has little chance of keeping the player since Newcastle United is also interested in the rumoured £30 million clause.
Despite having a contract with Ipswich through the summer of 2029, Delap is expected to leave this year due to a release clause.

According to the BBC, Delap left Man City for Ipswich last summer in a rumored £20 million transaction.
Since making the transition, the 22-year-old has made 32 starts in the top level and four cameos off the bench.

Now that he has his pick of suitors, Delap will undoubtedly remain in the Premier League for the upcoming campaign.
Clubs may speak with the player directly because of the £30 million relegation release clause in his contract, which eliminates the need to negotiate a deal with Ipswich.
Given the cost and his goal-scoring record this season, Delap is a very alluring alternative at a time when player values are at an all-time high.
With a new stadium and new ownership, Everton is an interesting prospect right now. However, it’s unclear if these in-person discussions have persuaded Ipswich’s hitman to accept Chelsea’s or Manchester United’s offers before they do.
