Ipswich Town star has already opened the door for a Nottingham Forest move

Given that one Ipswich Town player has already hinted at a return to the top flight, Nottingham Forest may have some exciting opportunities from the Premier League’s relegated teams.

Since Forest and most of the Premier League are interested in Liam Delap, he will undoubtedly be the top choice among the demoted crop of players.

He’s not alone, though, as Mateus Fernandes has caught Forest’s attention after playing brilliantly in the middle for relegated Southampton.

For Evangelos Marinakis, there are undoubtedly several deals available, and one player in particular can cover a need in Nuno Espírito Santo’s squad that needs to be filled.

In light of Nottingham Forest’s interest, Leif Davis desires a second Premier League opportunity.
Forest wants Leif Davis to give them competition because Neco Williams will be the only left-back left at the end of the season.

Speaking to the East Anglian Daily Times, Davis voiced his personal dissatisfaction with the season’s outcome after being demoted with Delap to Ipswich.

“From a personal standpoint, I’ve been a little disappointed by performances, knowing my quality,” he stated. In games, I also lost a lot of confidence. Since you’re competing against the world’s top players, it’s important to regain your confidence.

“I know my qualities, I know I can play in this league,” he said, expressing his desire for a second chance at the top division. I want to return here shortly.

That chance might come with Forest, where he could provide Williams other qualities that would make him the ideal addition.

One of Neco Williams’ areas of weakness is where Leif Davis shines.

Forest plans to extend Williams’ contract after a fantastic season, but he will need competition when Alex Moreno’s loan is over.

This is the ideal situation for Davis, who could learn from the Welshman’s better defensive skills while contributing a creative production that Williams cannot equal.

Davis may be more useful than Williams in games that call for greater defensive discipline because of his 1.97 chances produced and precise crosses in games that Forest should dominate.

Although Davis’ defensive play isn’t entirely terrible because he dribbles past fewer opponents than Williams, an attacking threat from deep like Davis could be useful in a season when Forest will also have to contend with European football.
