It’s Whether – Ex-EFL Striker Poses Question On Boss Linked With Norwich City

As he searches for a new Canaries manager, former Championship striker Sam Parkin is uncertain if Ben Knapper, the sporting director of Norwich City, will fit Russell Martin’s preferred style of play.

Due to Southampton’s inability to compete in the Premier League, Martin has remained unemployed since being fired by the team in mid-December.

With Norwich of Carrow Road without a manager since Johannes Hoff Thorup was fired, a return to management is already being hailed.

Martin is still a serious contender, despite the fact that other names have also been mentioned. However, Parkin maintains that it all depends on whether Knapper, the club’s sporting director, would share the 39-year-old’s values.

During the Championship Check-In broadcast, Parkin stated, “You have witnessed Russell Martin [being linked].”

“I mean, the question is if Ben Knapper, who joined from Arsenal, would fit Russell Martin’s preferred style of play.

“I’m not sure if he would slightly stray from that.”

Parkin thinks it will be interesting to observe how rejuvenated Martin appears when he returns to the game after being unemployed for a few months and seeking advice from others on how to hone his managing abilities.

“He will undoubtedly go abroad and learn and pick the brains of others, as they always do, as well as attend some prestigious clubs during this sporadic time between obtaining employment.

Therefore, it will be intriguing to see what a revitalized Russell Martin looks like.

With only two victories and a staggering 22 goals given up, Norwich has the second-worst record in the Championship after 12 games.

Jack Wilshere, a former Arsenal player, will be eager to leave a good impression in his brief time as caretaker manager for the season’s final two games.
