Jefte subject of Rangers transfer ‘agreement’ for Ibrox exit as London meeting set to seal left back’s fate

Rangers could be set to make way for a transfer exit for the left back.

There are rumours that Jefte is on his way out of Rangers because he may be forced to leave after a meeting in London.

Following a loan stint with APOEL in Europe, the Brazilian left back joined the Light Blues from Fluminense last year. The Brazilian left back joined the Light Blues from Fluminense last year after a loan spell in Europe with APOEL. While his potential has been clear, his defensive ability has come under the microscope and it has had right back Max Aarons start the campaign in that position, albeit Jefte came back into that role for matches against Viktoria Plzen and Dundee.

Jefte Rangers’ most recent transfer departure “In recent hours, Palmeiras has made progress in negotiations for left-back Jefté, with whom they have a preliminary verbal agreement to sign a five-year contract,” the statement reads. Discussions are going nicely. An in-person meeting with a Rangers representative is planned for coming Thursday, the 14th, in London, as there are still administrative modifications to be made to conclude the agreement. The Palmeiras board is optimistic about the acquisition and anticipates having the player available the following week. The Scottish squad will play Club Brugge of Belgium in the Champions League group stage play-off on Tuesday, 19th.
