Jobe Bellingham transfer news: Borussia Dortmund is in advanced talks to sign the Sunderland midfielder.

Sunderland are in advanced talks with Borussia Dortmund regarding the sale of Jobe Bellingham.

Bellingham has agreed to join Dortmund after receiving interest from Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig.

The 19-year-old’s contract includes a £33.7m (€40m) release clause.

However, Bellingham is said to have a gentleman’s agreement with Sunderland that allows him to leave for a lower fee if a big club comes calling.

The newly promoted Premier League club may sell for around £25 million (€30 million).

Bellingham helped Sunderland return to the Premier League via the Championship play-off final after an eight-year absence.

If he decides to join the Bundesliga, he will be following in the footsteps of his older brother Jude.

The Real Madrid midfielder left Birmingham for Borussia Dortmund as a teenager before joining the Spanish club.

The younger Bellingham also came through Birmingham’s academy, spending two years in the first team after making his debut in 2021 at the age of sixteen.

Sunderland signed him from Blues in the summer of 2023, and Bellingham played an important role in Regis Le Bris’ promotion push this season.
