Derby County manager John Eustace was overjoyed to secure the futures of Craig Forsyth and Matt Clarke for the upcoming season.
Clarke signed a three-year contract at the end of the season after playing a key role in the club’s relegation battle after joining from Middlesbrough in January for the third time.
Forsyth then followed suit on Monday, signing a two-year contract as a reward for some good efforts towards the conclusion of the season as the club avoided relegation. Derby County head coach Eustace said at a supporters’ meeting on Tuesday night that he was thrilled to complete their signings considering their importance to the team.
“I was extremely fortunate to play with Foz during my time here, and when we asked him to play the final 12 games, I believe, he played left centre-back, left-back, and left wing-back.
“I believed his performances were fantastic, so I wanted him to join the voyage moving ahead. He earned it. He is Derby County through and through.
